As a horticulturist (formerly with the University of Georgia), I propagate my own plants (seeds, cuttings, division, air-layering, grafting, tissue culture).
I started Victoria’s Secret Garden & Nursery in 2003 when I began selling hydrangeas I’d propagated at metro Atlanta farmers’ markets. Over the course of seven years, I was a vendor at 12 of these markets.
From farmers’ markets, I expanded my business to include onsite nursery sales, landscape design, and participation in field trials for research studies and plant recommendations to the nursery trade.
As a professional horticultural writer and speaker, I’ve given presentations on numerous topics. For 15 years, my class on phytopathology (plant diseases) was part of the required curriculum for certifying master gardeners in GA (UGA) and SC (Clemson).
Hydrangeas were the founding members of my nursery, and I currently propagate eight different types of these plants (species and cultivars).
Hostas quickly followed hydrangeas, both of which are still mainstays of my nursery. Among numerous hosta cultivars, I’ve also propagated a species hosta (Hosta ventricosa) for 24 years.
Original (wild) species African violets are a particular favorite of mine. Now endangered in their native Africa, these plants are the source of our modern-day hybrids.
I also propagate native and heirloom plants, brugmansia cultivars, and some rare plants.
Under the category “Georgia Gold Medal Plants,” you’ll find award-winning selections that exhibit superior performance in Southern climates.
Catalog Items
I’m in the process of adding many items to my catalog as I resume my business after a year’s hiatus. By Spring 2025, I’ll hopefully be back up and running at full schedule again.
Shipping
My shipping schedule varies based on type of plant and seasonal availability. If you’re able to click through and order an item, it’s available. “Out of Stock” typically means currently not shipping because of the time of year.
I ship live plants on Mondays and Tuesdays only. Seeds, bulbs, tubers, roots, gardening supplies, and other catalog items ship according to item type and time of year.
Plant Care Sheets
Complete care sheets included with all plant and seed purchases. But if you have further questions, let me know through my ”Contact” menu option or by calling me at 864-906-5190.
